It has survived so long because it’s a power tool that allows people to do complex things with just a few keystrokes. More importantly, it helps them combine existing programs in new ways and automate repetitive tasks so they aren’t typing the same things over and over again. Use of the shell is fundamental to using a wide range of other powerful tools and computing resources (including “high-performance computing” supercomputers). This Software Carpentry workshop will start you on a path towards using these resources effectively. 2021-08-30 09:00:00 UTC 2021-08-30 17:00:00 UTC QCIF The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia The University of Queensland Brisbane Australia 4072 The University of QueenslandQCIF training@qcif.edu.au [] Researchers looking to automate processes or use ‘command line’ research software, including using high performance and parallel computing facilities 20 workshop host_institution []
